Recently I offered some advice for how small businesses and independent professionals who aren’t very tech-savvy could expand their existing simple brochure sites into sites that will actively help build their business. …Because the way the internet works today, a static brochure site is like a car up on blocks: You can sit in it, you can show it to people — but it ain’t going far. After discussing some issues in the comments to that post with my friend maiki interi (a talented and thoughtful Web developer), I’ve decided to correct an important piece of advice.

After 10 years of existence and releasing a bunch of features including activating real time RSS feeds , jump breaks (AKA expandable post summaries for you WordPress guru’s) and anointing BlogPress Lite as the Blogger app for the iPhone, Google is now asking for suggestions on how to improve Blogger. The old blog had numerous design changes, and I never really found a Blogger or WordPress template that worked. When I moved everything to SquareSpace and hired a WebMaster, I settled quickly into the template below: An American Lion, Old Design This worked well, I suppose, since a dark background with white or grey text supports a photography blog. I do run quite a few photos, but I also try to write as much as I can.
